This collection consists of records of the administration and operation of the Kansas State Fair held annually in September in Hutchinson, Reno County. It Includes administrative records (e.g., correspondence, financial, contracts, permits, etc.), architectural drawings and construction plans, exhibition records (e.g., exhibitors, agricultural products, livestock and dog shows, awards, pedigree records, livestock transfers, etc.), and exhibit programs.

Created in 1913, the Kansas Board of State Fair Managers consisted of five members, four of whom were elected by the State Board of Agriculture from its members, and the secretary of the State Horticultural Society, with a term of two years. Before 1913, the annual Kansas State Fair was administered by the State Board of Agriculture.
